Abstract:
Introduction to a special issue resulting from a research workshop organised by the "Innovation" thematic group of the Association Internationale de Management Stratégique (AIMS). Among the 12 papers presented during the day, one theme stood out in particular: knowledge sharing. We have seen that sharing is a key process in knowledge management. We also know that combining different types of knowledge is one of the foundations of creativity (see, for example, Kogut and Zander, 1992, Nonaka and Takeuchi, 1995, Leonard and Straus, 1997). What's more, organisations are increasingly required to open up their innovation process to the outside world (Chesbrough, 2003). The four articles selected for this special report have been chosen because they contribute to this body of knowledge, still under construction, on the links between innovation and knowledge sharing.
