Corbel, P. and Hatton-Asensi, N. « Combiner tradition et innovation environnementale : le cas de la vitiviniculture », 7th AIMS Innovation Thematic Group Workshop, Lyon, September 2016

Abstract:

The relationship between innovation and tradition appears at first sight to be contradictory. A priori, the two terms appear to be opposed, and some innovation management theories, without directly addressing the issue, point in this direction. However, some studies have highlighted their possible complementarity. We address this issue in the case of winegrowing, a sector in which tradition, particularly in France, plays a major role, but which is nonetheless being forced to evolve under the pressure - among other things - of increased concern for the environment. This paper will present the initial results of a qualitative study of the integration of innovations by French winemakers, focusing on those that lead to greater respect for the environment.
